Welcome to Collins Clayton & Co
Collins Clayton & Co is a family firm, owned and actively run by its partners, the husband and wife team of John and Lesley Cowan.
First established by John's four times great grandfather in 1801, it started as a china and glass shop in Wisbech, Cambridge-shire, England. The Wisbech premises were sold on in 1985 and, since then, the Company has concentrated specifically upon engraving in glass and, latterly, specialising in engraving photographs into stone.
Long standing commercial relationships with companies such as the world famous Stuart Crystal of Stourbridge (now sadly taken over and since shut down) were documented well into the early part of the last century. We bought glass from them... they bought training and materials from us.
One offshoot from the Partnership is the PrecisionMasks Engraving System, an advanced photo resist system specifically developed for high detail engraving.
Also an offshoot from Collins Clayton are Tomblets, a product line based upon memorial photographs engraved at high resolution into polished black granite. www.tomblets.com
Collins Clayton & Co are based in Scotland, by the Mull of Kintyre.
